Vettaiyadu Vilayadu - A bunch of negatives turned out as positives when the projector Ray's falls on the screen.
Everyone Knows that Vettaiyadu Vilayadu was the last film of Kamal Hassan where he doesn't interrupt in the story and making.
Till the release date, everyone felt that this film is going to be utter flop for Kamal Hassan and Gautham.Except Producer and Director everyone said this statement even Kamal too.The team felt a bunch of negatives till the projector rays falls on the screen during the release date.The intial producer of the film passed away while the shoot is happening.Gautham signed on agreement to make this movie on first copy basis so he spend some money for the portions to be shot in India.Then producer Aascar film Ravichandran came on board took over this film.Later he withdrew from the film production half of it's way.Then another film producer Manickam Narayanan came on board he spend the money for the rest of the film.The continuous complaints came to him from Kamal regarding the worst shooting manners and he also added that making of Gautham was so unwell.Because of agreement Kamal was forced to finish the full movie shooting.Till the release date the producer lost around 25 crs due to previous producers debt with some investors and Sun TV bought Satellite rights forcefully because of the same reason.The film went to big trouble in CBFC and they chamber initially prohibited the film because of the certain raw scenes.Then the chamber said some cuts to gowtham and issued the "A" certificate to the movie.The clash happened between the trio producer, director and Kamal Hassan.While Dubbing for the Telugu version late singer SP Balasubramaniyam said to the producer that " Movie was so worst". All apart the producer and director strongly believed that the film will hit.
On the release date, the film grabbed positive reviews.The whole film collected around 65 crs .The film was made in 30 crs collected double the amount that it is made. Gautham's Photon Kathaas distributed the film in certain areas and collected the profit than what he spent for the actual. But the film was partial loss for the producer Manickam Narayanan. Even in that loss producer felt so happy that his first production venture was a blockbuster hit. The team again reunited after the release celebrated the 100th day.At last their bunch of negatives turned out as positive after the release.
